Now that word has gotten out parents are fighting back and Omaha has agreed to remove them but they're still in Bellevue and a number of other smaller districts.

I’m not sure who owns the media there, but I know a lot of parents were shocked and angry to find out the gloves were in their schools. They weren’t consented and I’m very glad that Omaha is walking this back. Now to get the other districts to do the same!
It’s unbelievable that something not even allowed in prisons is used in schools, on kids with disabilities. Thanks for getting this info out, it’s horrifying. The cruelty just flows down from the top.

There is a serious problem in our culture with men (by and large…) who believe that guns and tasers and batons and weapons are the way to force people, even innocent bystanders, into submission. I guess the belief is that expediency is paramount. Humanity is meaningless. And none of them have the skills or training or patience to deescalate situations—even with kids. Violence over diplomacy. No conscience. This is our culture unless we change it.
These school officials…principals? Counselors? Coaches? Secretaries? Teachers? Who of these people believe such horrific punishment is appropriate? Let’s have names. Let’s organize the parents and fire the people who used them. Was written consent given by parents for school officials to do this? Accountability NOW!
